Dr Brett Kennedy

Dr Brett Kennedy has a Bachelor of Science from the University of the Witwatersrand with an Honours degree in Applied and Clinical Psychology. He studied Medicine in South Africa and specialised in the United Kingdom in General Adult and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. He has specialist experience in Neuropsychiatry and Anxiety related disorders. He completed a Masters degree in Science at the University of Manchester in Psychiatry Research and as a special interest worked at the Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy Unit at Springfield University Hospital, London gaining expertise in the medical and psychotherapeutic management of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and other Anxiety Disorders.

He has contributed to textbooks in Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy and is a Psychotherapy Supervisor for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

He recently held the position of Director of Medical Education for the Gold Coast Mental Health Service and is an Academic lead in Mental Health at Bond University. He has dedicated many years to public service in the United Kingdom and Australia.
